Commitment as a Member of the Town Council of Bulle

The Town Council of Bulle consists of 50 members and is currently composed of 16 members of SP (Social Democratic Party), 15 members of the FDP (The Liberals), 12 members of the CVP (Christian Democratic People's Party), 5 members of the SVP / EDU (Swiss People’s Party / Federal Democratic Union) and 2 members of the Green Liberal Party.

I belong to the SVP / EDU coalition and am a member of the education committee.

Bulle is experiencing rapid population growth with people from the north and south. The population has doubled in 10 years to 20,000. Among the new residents are many families with children and low incomes. This generates significant infrastructure needs, including in our schools, though bringing a modest increase in tax revenues.

Currently, Bulle can cover the administrative costs with its tax revenue, but is not able to make the necessary new investments on its own.

I am committed to safeguarding Bulle from becoming a dormitory town, and seeing to it that a balance between work and life is achieved. In addition, I am committed to finding financially viable solutions together with the neighboring municipalities, so that taxes do not need to be further increased, and that we do not become threatened by excessive indebtedness.

Commitments as an Entrepreneur

For over 30 years I have worked in the hospitality and tourism industry, for nearly 20 years as an independent contractor.

CHHotel, based in Bulle, is a holding company for service providers and other businesses that work in the hospitality industry, assisted residents, and tourism. The CHHotel group advises, finances, implements, and manages hotel and tourism projects within and outside of Switzerland.

As part of my business activities, I am committed to the implementation of basic ethical and moral values in everyday business, and for debt-free enterprises.

Schools and education are very important to me; promoting them is part of my political work. For the past 25 years I have trained apprentices in my own enterprises.

Auch die Cooperation with partners on the basis of mutual trust is extremely important to me.

I see the support of many local associations and clubs as part of my social responsibility as a business owner.

Commitment to Judeo- Christian values

Since 2009, a member of The Gideons International, an international non-profit organization that works in over 180 countries with the aim of making God's Word widely available.

2008 Establishment of Los Lorentes Foundation, , a nationally recognized non-profit Swiss foundation. It supports sustainable projects that are committed to following the biblical mandate to do good.

It is fundamentally important that Judeo- Christian values remain in Switzerland in our own generation as the foundation of coexistence, thereby guaranteeing conciliation and peaceful coexistence.

Through my involvement in The Gideons International and through the Los Lorentes Foundation I am actively committed to seeing:

  • that people personally discover the power of the Gospel, by giving them access to God and His Word, the Bible.
  • that through my community involvement people in trouble and distress experience wholistic and sustainable assistance. The biblical mandate to the weak is fundamental because "The strength of a community is measured by the welfare of the weakest of its members" (Preamble of the Swiss Federal Constitution).
